Trying to organise a day out in Northampton but not sure what to do? We’ve come up with our top things to do in Northampton and have split them up into daytime and evening activities and have shared them with you below.
The first of our things to do in Northampton is going for a walk. We admit it doesn’t sound like the most exciting activity in the world but Northampton is full of beautiful parks and countryside that are perfect for summer if you like going for a walk, a dog walk, picnics or running! In the centre of Northampton, you’ll find Abington Park and just outside of town you’ll find Delapre Abbey which has recently reopened. A little further from the centre are Pitsford Reservoir and Sywell Country Park.
Do you like to embrace a bit of history? Head to The Canal Museum in the heart of Stoke Bruerne. Learn about some of the historic stories and traditions of canals in Britain. Stoke Bruerne itself is also a beautiful village to wander around; take a walk by the canal and enjoy some lunch in one of the pubs.
Shopping had to be on our list of things to do in Northampton. Would it be a town centre if there wasn’t somewhere to do a spot of shopping? In the town centre, the Grosvenor Centre is full of the classic high street stores. St Giles Street is the home of little independent boutiques. A 20 minute drive from Northampton is Rushden Lakes, a recently new shopping complex.
At night, see the town light up with bars and clubs! Enjoy a night out with friends; start out in some of the pubs, have a cocktail in Revolution and finish the night in one of the clubs. If clubbing isn’t up your street, what about testing your luck in Aspers Casino?
There’s lots of fun things to do in Northampton, but nothing beats staying at home with a takeaway! Taste the flavour of authentic Asian cuisine from YamYam To Go UK!
