Traditional Chinese food is widely known for the delicious flavours and, as mentioned in a previous post, it’s one of the healthiest cuisines across the world. Below, we’ve given you tips for having traditional Chinese food at home and a recipe for one of our favourite dishes, chicken chow mein.

Chicken chow mein is one of our favourite dishes; it’s full of flavour and can also be quite simple to make at home.
Marinate 50g of shredded chicken breasts in 1 tsp light soy sauce, 1 tsp dry sherry, 1 tsp sesame oil and ¼ tsp ground white pepper; leave to marinate for 10 minutes.
Cook 115g egg noodles in a pan of boiling water for approximately 4 minutes; drain the noodles and leave in a bowl until’ later in the process.
Stir fry the marinated chicken for 2 minutes; put in a bowl until’ later.
Stir fry 25g mangetout (shredded) and 1 garlic clove (crushed) for 1 minute and then add in your noodles, 1 spring onion (finely chopped), 1 tsp light soy sauce, 1 tsp dark soy sauce, ½ tbsp dry sherry and ¼ tsp ground white pepper and stir fry for a further 2 minutes.
Finally, add the chicken to the rest of the ingredients and cook for 4 more minutes, or until’ the chicken is cooked.
